Beaver Scouts (6-8)

Beavers is the first stage to Scouting – we aim to learn about scouting skills while having fun. Beavers is for children aged 6 to 8 from any faith or ethnicity. At present we meet Tuesday evenings 6 to 7 pm.

We have fun by:

  • Playing games
  • Meeting people
  • Various activities

Recent activities include:

  • Cooking
  • Visiting a Fire Station
  • Challenge morning
  • Assault course

We have a long waiting list and adult help is always needed. All Leaders children automatically have a place. If you have a child who is interested in joining Beavers, or you would like to join a great team why not come down and visit us or contact us for more information.

Basics

Beavers are usually aged between six and eight years old, though they can be as young as five and three quarters.

A group of Beaver Scouts is called a Colony, and each Colony can be split up into smaller groups called Lodges.

Beavers have a Promise and Motto, but there is not a Beaver Scout Law.

The Beaver Scout Promise
I promise to do my best
To be kind and helpful
And to love God.

The Beaver Scout Motto
Be prepared

Put your phone down and what are you left with? Just teamwork, courage and the skills to succeed.’
